West Bengal Milk Federation is a state level apex body implementing dairy development activities in West Bengal.
The overall picture of the 13 milk unions in West Bengal showed that an
average 1.88 TKPD
milk is being procured from
1,627 Societies with 61,530
pourer farmers. Most of this quantum of milk finds its way into the Government
dairy plants and Mother Dairy Calcutta.
The Federation is also implementing National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR), Kishan Credit Card (KCC), and several State Government Projects like Utkarsha Bangla, Infrastructural Development, Revamping of Milk Procurement System etc.,
Milk Federation is paying State Government incentives @ Rs.6/- per Kg. of milk proured by the farmers directly to the farmers Bank Accounts through the Milk Unions.
